This meteorite was found in the province of Adjabiya, northeastern Libya. In 2001, fragments of this typical L6 chondrite were discovered close to the town of Jalu. Approximately 150 kg of this meteorite was gathered. The black ‘impact shock lines’ that are characteristic for Jalu flow through this meteorite. They were created in space when impacting with other asteroids.
